Ken MacKinnon, Director
Ken was until recently a Managing Partner at Miralta Capital, a private equity investment management firm, and from 1994 through 2002 was a senior investment banker with Merrill Lynch & Co., where he was Managing Director & head of the Technology Investment Banking Group for Canada. Ken has acted as strategic advisor to and financier for many outstanding technology companies. Notable accomplishments include taking Research in Motion public on NASDAQ and raising billions of dollars in IPOs, follow-on offerings, convertible and debt securities. Earlier in his career, he worked for a major oil tanker owner in London, England and as a ship-broker in Paris, France. He has an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a BA from McGill University. |

Ken MacKinnon is a private investor and corporate director whose business background includes 23 years of experience in the investment banking, private equity and international shipping industries. He is a board member and Chairman of the Audit Committees for Velan Inc. and Blue Tree Wireless Inc., is on the Advisory Board of the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University and has completed the Directors Education Program given by the Institute of Corporate Governance.
